STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
		Allison Rutherford Executive Director HR Tech Group Allison is the Executive Director of the HR Tech Group, and was one of its founding members in 1990. She is the recipient of the HRMA 2007 Award of Excellence, which recognizes the HR Professional of the Year in BC. Prior to leading the HR Tech Group, Allison held the positions of Director of Human Resources with Scientific Atlanta, at Nexus Engineering and the NEXUS Group of Companies. She has also provided Human Resources consulting services for a variety of small to mid size technology companies over the last 10 years.
CHAIR
		Laura diFelice HR Manager Sophos Laura is the Chair of the Steering Committee. Previously, Laura led the Programs & Events portfolio, coordinating the quarterly events for the association, as well as planning and delivering the Human Capital Symposium. Laura is currently the HR Manager at Sophos North America, a global IT security company with 200 employees locally and 1500 employees worldwide. Sophos is headquartered in Boston, MA, and Oxford, England. Prior to joining Sophos 7 years ago, Laura was the HR Manager for Chalk Media; a subsidiary of RIM, and has held a number of recruitment roles within Canada and the UK.
PROGRAMS & EVENTS
		Phyllis Bowman HR Business Partner Ballard Power Systems Phyllis has over 10 years experience working in Human Resources in the high tech sector. For the past two years she has been a co-chair for Programs & Events portfolio and has also been involved in the HR Tech Group as a SIG leader and a planning member for the Human Capital Symposium. Prior to joining Ballard, Phyllis was an HR Manager at Open Solutions Canada, Backbone Entertainment and ACL Services.
		Jan Laishley Manager, Human Resources Ballard Power Systems, Inc. Jan has over fifteen years of global recruitment and human resources management experience in Vancouver’s high tech sector and is currently a Human Resources Manager at Ballard Power Systems. Prior to her career at Ballard, Jan worked at two Vancouver based software firms, including 5 years with Pivotal Corporation. Jan has been involved with the HR Tech Group since 2002 and participated on the committee to plan and deliver the 2011 Human Capital Symposium. Jan joins the steering committee this year and will Co-Chair the Programs & Events portfolio.
MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNICATION
		Shiah Bazeley Manager, Human Resources Relic Entertainment Shiah has joined the Steering Committee this year to work on the Membership & Communication portfolio. She is the Manager, HR at Relic Entertainment, a video game development company that is part of THQ Inc., a worldwide developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software. Her human resources experience has been primarily in new media and hi-tech previously working at Humanature Studios/Nexon Publishing North America and Teligence. Shiah is currently a member of the Mid-Level Practitioners SIG and joined the HR Tech Group in 2007.
		Michelle Tse Human Resources Manager Archipelago Marine Research Ltd. Michelle is the HR Manager at Archipelago Marine Research based in Victoria, BC. Previously, she worked in Biotech as the HR Advisor at Aspreva Pharmaceuticals (now Vifor Pharma). On the Steering Committee, she represents the growing number of technology companies located on Vancouver Island and works with the Membership and Communication portfolio.
TOTAL REWARDS - COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
		Natasha Gordon HR Manager Hostway Corporation Natasha is the co-chair of the Total Rewards portfolio, which includes the annual High Tech Salary Survey and the HR Tech Group Buying Plan. She has been involved in the HR Tech Group for several years having served on the Conference Planning Committee for the Human Capital Symposium. She has been the Manager of HR for Hostway, a global web hosting company, for the last few years. Prior to Hostway, Natasha worked in the new media industry at Threewave Software, a video game development company.
		Victoria Jones Senior Manager, Human Resources PMC-Sierra Victoria has over 13 years of experience in HR, and is currently the Senior Manager of Human Resources at PMC overseeing Global Benefit, Relocation and Immigration, and HR Systems. Prior to her almost five years at PMC, Victoria was the HR Manager at Spectrum Signal Processing in Burnaby, and began her HR career in the Technology sector in Ottawa. After 8 years as a member of the HR Tech Group, Victoria is excited to join the Steering Committee in the Total Rewards - Compensation and Benefits Portfolio!
SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS (SIGs)
		Leanne Viola Human Resources Business Parnter Schneider Electric Leanne is the Human Resources Business Partner at the Solar Business Unit in Burnaby of Schneider Electric. She has worked in high-tech for most of her career in a variety of different roles in the HR function. She has been the Co-Chair of the Emerging Practitioner SIG for the past year.
		Kate Hughes HR Manager Partnerpedia Kate is the co-chair of the Special Interest Group (SIG) portfolio. After joining the HR Tech Group in 2007, and instantly benefitting from the value the group brings to the community, Kate was keen to contribute to the group from an organizational standpoint. In 2008 Kate assumed the co-chair role of the Tough Times SIG. Kate is the HR Manager at Partnerpedia.
