Dear HR Tech Group members,
2019 is shaping up to be a productive year for the association.
The mentoring program is underway with a record 74 participants. A reminder to all participants that six months goes by quickly. Please make the most of this opportunity to learn and connect.
Our Feb 13th event Diversity and Inclusion: Beyond Lip Service was standing room only despite a snowstorm, which tells me this is an important topic for our members. We are waiting on word from the provincial government regarding funding for initiatives to increase Diversity and Inclusion in BC’s Tech Sector. In the meantime, we will continue to provide opportunities for collaboration and learning on this critical topic.
To better connect and collaborate with members across the province, we will be hosting a few webinar learning events this year. Watch for our first one in April.
For those members on Vancouver Island, we will be hosting a live event in Victoria on May 9th. The topic will be Hiring International Talent: Insights and Resources. Registration details coming soon. Hope to see you there!
Save the date: On September 26th, 2019 we will be holding our full day Talent Conference at the Convention Center in downtown Vancouver.
Next week, member companies such as Workday, Stemcell, D-Wave and Skybox Labswill be joining me in meeting with federal and provincial immigration program representatives to provide industry feedback and share ideas. I look forward to this opportunity to continue to shape our immigration programs to better support the Tech sector.
A warm welcome to the following new association members: Industrial Light and Magic, Fatigue Science, News360, KPMG, and Aequilibrium.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or to Nikol Hensler, our Member Specialist, if you have feedback or questions. I can be reached at email@example.com and Nikol can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
All the best,
CEO, HR Tech Group
